Newbie from Canberra

G'day to all, the name is Carlton;

picked up a near new 2008 Polo GTI in August and have loved it from the first moment. The excitement bubbles from the moment I turn the ignition key and doesn't stop until I reach the intended destination. Its not just a drive but an adrenalin rush....!!!

The day I bought it, I could not sleep.. had to take it out for a spin at 1am in the morning inorder to go to sleep afterwards.

Looking around now at performance mods, not coz I'm bored but simply because I am heading back to Cairns next year and there doesn't seem to be anywhere that stocks performance bits that far north.

Also looking at the XCarlink stuff to integrate my Iphone and TomTom App

G'day and welcome to the forums. Nice to have another local Polo GTI around - even if only for a short while before you head back up north.

I've got an 07 GTI that's had most of the 'usual' mods performed, so if you ever want to catch up and have a chat or take a drive just drop me a note.

If you haven't met Peter Shelley from Canberra VW Centre in Belconnen you should also drop out and have a chat to him - he's 'my' local VW guru and probably the best place to go for performance upgrades and general servicing for these cars.

appreciate the welcome. I met Peter earlier this week and briefly discussed APR chip upgrade and downpipe upgrade.

I am convinced and honestly, don't think there is anyone in Cairns to do the work however, still working on convincing SWMBO and that is quite a challenge.

I'm working on it....
