  • NSW Sydney R32 driver

    Hello Every one,

I am a newbie to this forum however i always hear great things about it so i decided to pop around and say hello.

I own a R32 MkV DSG Black, and live in Sydney. Which brings me to my next thing, i was unable to find a Sydney R32 Club and there for have set up a social R32 club inside the R32OC.com.

We have 13 members and are looking for more Sydney siders that are interested in joining in. We have organised a maiden cruise and so far have a few people comming along however we are looking to make this a big thing and an awesome day.

It would be awesome however if we could get some GTI's along for the day as it would add to the excitment and make it a great day for all.

Dates and info on the cruise are all available through this link:

I have copied the post from our thread inside the R32oc web site below. please feel free to read through this and come and check it all out.

This is the official home of the Sydney R32 Club, all information on club meets and group buys and other associated events will be available throughout this post.

To all new comers please feel free to join our friendly bunch of VW R32 enthusiast.

This Club has been formed to bring together owners of the VW R32 that would like to participate in group buys, drives and other events. It is a social club and there are no member requirements it is really just an open forum to bring like-minded people together.

If you have any question specifically about organized events or the club they can be directed toward Islos or Dainese. Other wise all information will be listed in the following post.

So please all feel free to join in the conversations and become a part of our freindly group

      couple things, from my opinion.

firstly, you have endless amount of drives going on a monthly basis from here, vortex and mk5 forums. you missed the previous ones from here and tex???

to have a r32 only based cruise all the time you will find that you are really limiting yourself for a very minority group of people, no body cares what vw it is to be honest. you are better off everybody coming to the one instead of seperating to a 'group' of cars eg r32 lol

Secondly, driving through national park at 11am isnt a wise idea. you will get hit by endless amount of traffic and cyclists over the weekends hence you will find we always try do it pre 9am as it becomes highly annoying driving through with 20km/h drivers and those damn cyclists. Do not meet in audley as you will find yourself coping a ticket as to park in the national park you need to pay, so if anybody drives through and says "oh im meeting up with ppl in the car park" they wil req for you to pay and ask for you too do so.

Lastly considering there are a few "r32" goers see very little turn up to most events other then tommy, james, stan and ian usually

Good to see people trying to push forth ideas and club events, however i always think combine everybody altogether not based on GTI club or R32 club only as segregating makes things smaller in the world of the VAG Group!

remember, 31st is the dyno day as well for all sydney peeps with vw/audi's ..

thats just my 2psi on the thought lol

(not being negative, more so saying we should get EVERYBODY together as one GROUP!) bigger the better as always.. small runs are always great too like the last weekend through w-ferry which was brilliant!)

you make some good points there

however as the Forum that i was on is the R32oc it is limited in some ways to R32 owners, not discounting the fact that any and all VW are welcome including other makes and models of other manufactures... as stated in the post...

Didnt realise that you didnt need to pay if you where jsut driving through as apposed to staying in the park however you make a good point and this is easly rectified as well as the time issue...

as there is a park/oval just before the turn off to the RNP (depending where you are coming from of coarse) we can meet there and yes a 9:00am start has been suggested to avoid the traffic...

Which we will probably get onto...

However if you would like to come along as you seemed to have alot of back ground knowledege when it comes to such things that would be great fuzion

Bro, we keep knocking me off the list.

ha ha, all good. Hope we can add more to the list.

I think exclusive R32 is a good idea, but like u said, others are welcome. It's not like we think we are better that other VW cars

BTW, this drive will be my first.

              Hello there.

              Welcome to the forum.

I would probably suggest that you get better coverage if you put a notice about your forums cruise in the NSW meets section.

As you are probably aware, this forum attempts to unify Australian Watercooled VAG owners without any bias or discrimination. You are more than welcome to place your events on the meets section, as long as that the event is open to all Watercooled VAG owners. What VWW does not want to endorse are events that cater only to a sub-set of users as that goes against the inclusive ethos that we try to engender.

So you are aware, blatent advertising of external sites, forums, business or otherwise will incur the poster infractions.

I encourage you to spend some time using this site, there are many users here that are very experienced R32 owners and I am sure you can pick up much from them. You may even come to appreciate the other marks of Golf.

              Michael.
