  • Tiguan ordered - now the wait.

    G'day everyone.

Great forum with stacks of info. Looking forward to taking delivery of our new Tiguan over the next few weeks. Have been tracking it's arrival since we found out the VIN.

It will be loaded with a few goodies, but we also look forward to puting our touch to it.

    Regards,

      Hi team_v,

We went for the TDI in Candy White paint, Black leather option which is part of the comfort pack, so seats are heated too. BiXenon headlights plus front fog lights, Park assist (hahahaha), Bluetooth, iPod Media in option, Offroad pack, all the carpets and mats, and a 8" roof mounted DVD for the skids.

Also looking at getting some 18" wheels, the "must have" window tint for us QLDers, towbar and eventually want to find out about chipping the diesel too.

Counting down the next 5 weeks or so...

Oettinger do a Chip for the TDI to bump the power up to 125kw.

There is also talk of a DPF delete to sustain engine life and provides a fairly decent rise in power as well.
From memory, custom code do that.

        Nice options you have.
White with black interior is what i will be looking at.
18" wheels are a good choice as well since the tyres are reasonably priced and it won't compromise handling.

          team_v,

thanks for the tips re the chips and tuning. 125kw sounds a tad better than 103kw doesn't it.

When we get it, I'll post the mandatory pics for you.

I just had a look at the wheel/tyre section - not alot there for the Tiguan. Do you or anyone else know if this seller http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...26+Audi+Wheels is above board as they have some great wheel and tyre packages. I know they are replicas and not genuine, but there's a hell of a difference too.

Sounds like a monster of a Tiguan. Congrats on the purchase.

Tempe are reputable, but make sure the tyres you get aren't old.

Some of the Audi/Vw reps are pretty good looking.
Also, BMW and Merc wheels have the same bolt pattern so that might expand your options.

Cheers guys, these are what we're looking at...

18" (VW centre cap of course) on new Kuhmo KU31's in 235/50x18.

Now who's going to buy our 16's or do we fit them with an offroad tyre and use them on the rougher stuff?

They look pretty good, i never thought of them on a tig, will do a mock up.

I don't know how many people will buy the old 16's, i think Actra had his up for sale previously but not sure if they sold.

Might be better off keeping them for offroading.

The kumho's seem good, i have only heard good things about them.

That at least gives us some confidence with the supplier and yep those wheels would look OK I reckon.

Looks okay, maybe a darker colour would suit it more e.g. shadow

                        team_v,

you're very fast off the mark mate!
It looks good! Yes maybe a darker colour would look even better. We originally thought of the "P206" wheels in the chrome, but they only go as big as 17" in those. The chrome finish would would SUPER on the white car!

                          Chrome versions.
Not to scale as they are about 20" in this mock up but it gives you the idea.

                          Hope this is helping.
