Hey mate, and welcome!
What sort of modifications are you talking about? I see you own an EVO so i'm thinking performance/suspension, right?
As far as the Chassis goes.. I'm running KW V1 height adjustable suspension (with adjustable rear rebound) and i was running Audi TT 17x8.5's with Maxxis 235/45's before i went to the standard wheels again etc etc (Went for a different look for something to do..). It handles very very well and anyone on this forum that has been in it will agree that it handles well and the ride is fantastic for a van so low.
Engine wise i'm just running a TDI (Turbo Diesel International) piggyback module that modifies the injection timing. Very happy with that. More grunt, smoother, better fuel economy.
A couple of pics..
With the 17's..
As it sits now..
Thread on the Van (Hasn't been updated since christmas last year, but contains a full write up on the suspension and module etc etc)..

well at this stage, the van comes with a rear seat conversion, so it makes it much more practical. it also has the "life rear window" option.
i had a look at the orange one that mark owns, and i like the bbs ch rims.
i will look at doing a colour coding of the cars bumpers, or getting a golf gti front bumper, but ive been told it doesnt fit, so will look at replicas.
also will look for a gti or r32 wreck and try and grab the front seats, as i believe the rails r the same. prob grab the brakes as well from the gti or r32.
derek from european autotech serviced my brothers b5 rs4 so he knows a bit about VAG cars. will look at either the apr or oettinger chip, but there r a few diesel turbo companies floating around
will most prob go the kw v1 suspension route as this seems the most popular and works.
i will prob upgrade the stereo and swap out the speakers, nothing fancy.
i think these upgrades are very doable and getting most of them from a wrecker or from the for sale section should keep it reasonable2011 cw golf gti 3dr man-tint-rear cargo mat-weathershields-bluetooth-mdi-19" oz racing ultra leggera-mcgard lockbolts-boston acoustic pro60se-jl audio xd700/5-jl audio bass tube bb-w060p- titanium exhaust tips-eibach custom pro-kit-OPS-OSIR cf mirror covers and cf front lip-dieselgeek short shifter

I'm assuming you mean Andrew's orange caddy with the CH's off his GTI? It looks great i have to agree.
I've seen a caddy with a GTI front end and i don't think it looked very good. But hey its your van...
I've thought about GTI or R32 or GT seats.. What about the side airbag? Have you considered that? I'm not sure what that entails..
Rear seat conversion hey? I'd like to hear more about this.. I saw some cleaners jump in the back of a Caddy Van at work the other day and i thought WTF? Never seen that before! I'd like to hear more about this rear seat conversion and whether it was an option from the dealer or....

yes, andrew (gtimk5) is the one.
i dunno, this one here although a touran looks good
well, as far as the seats go, installing them and not hooking up the airbags is probably the only option. do they all have the side airbags? polo gti?
teh rear seat conversion is done by many places. here is a caddy right now on carsales with it done
its aftermarket, and a few places can do, google van rear seat conversion and it gives u plenty of options. not too sure on prices, but they engineer it and put belts in and all. plus u can just unbolt it if u need the room.2011 cw golf gti 3dr man-tint-rear cargo mat-weathershields-bluetooth-mdi-19" oz racing ultra leggera-mcgard lockbolts-boston acoustic pro60se-jl audio xd700/5-jl audio bass tube bb-w060p- titanium exhaust tips-eibach custom pro-kit-OPS-OSIR cf mirror covers and cf front lip-dieselgeek short shifter

Welcome to this forum Wal!
The caddy lifes came with rear seats.
There is also a white caddy in Sydney with the gti front on it and about 20in bling wheels.
Keep it simple I think for a clean look.
By the way Preeny, I have ordered 2 rail covers so far....Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd
Caddy van 05/07 (colourcoded) (BRIGHT! orange!) coilovers, Konis 18in. wheels, Oettinger tuned

the main reason for getting a caddy over the life is that a life in manual is still about $25k whereas a caddy with the conversion is about 17k. plus i dont use the rear seats much if at all. i just want them as a backup.
the white caddy, does the front bar work? look cohesive2011 cw golf gti 3dr man-tint-rear cargo mat-weathershields-bluetooth-mdi-19" oz racing ultra leggera-mcgard lockbolts-boston acoustic pro60se-jl audio xd700/5-jl audio bass tube bb-w060p- titanium exhaust tips-eibach custom pro-kit-OPS-OSIR cf mirror covers and cf front lip-dieselgeek short shifter
