Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hey All.. Newbie from SA.

    Hey There.

Brand new to to the forum and brand new to VW's! Have just bought my first VW, that being a MK3 Golf VR6. Ive always liked them ever since I saw and heard the first 1 Id seen on the road, but have never taken the plunge until now. The car is in NSW so I wont actualy have it in my hands until next week but I am excited and looking forward to getting it thats for sure. Its a 96 in black and a bog stocker!

Ive had heaps of modified cars and bikes in the past, lots of subarus and have always been around rotaries and still have an RX2 and RX4 now, call me crazy But I absolutely love the things! The VR6 has come about when my other half cooked the 323 daily she has been driving so I decided to get something that was a bit of fun and a bit different that we could both enjoy driving, she really wanted a hatch so straight away I said lets get a VR6.... so here I am..lol..

Anyway look forward to chatting with you all on the forums and getting to know the new little beast

    Cheers

    Sam!

          Hey Sam

Sounds like these VR6's appeal to us rotary nuts for some reason, I've come from the rotary world into a VR6 as well. Congratulations on the VW purchase.

You wouldn't happen to be the same Robby K with the Rex that is mates with Brad would you?

Thought it was, I recognised the username. I know Brad through SA Rotors although we've had our differences in the past and don't really talk much

Unfortunately no I don't have my FC anymore wish I didn't sell it though. I've had my VR6 for a little over a year now and would love another FC as a project. I have to keep waiting though no funds at the moment.

Yeah at least you can still get your rotor fix lol

                        Yeah they are very addictive.

To be honest I think I am over the VR, recently it's been a complete money pit and considering I don't have any money to wipe my backside with it's not good.
