  • Paint protection

    Hi All,

Just picked up my Tornado Red Golf GTi Mk V. Absolutely love it, and wouldn't change anything about it. I have a question for the more seasoned campaigners here: I got the premium paint protection as recommended by VW. Do you know if I can still polish and /or wax the GTi, after the paint protection?

I think I read something about voiding the warranty for the paint protection if I do anything except use the car wash product as supplied by the paint protection guys.

Also, for all the VW enthusiasts around SE Qld, please keep me in the loop for future road trips.

    Cheers!

There are a lot of different products masquerading as paint protection, and they all have their own rules to follow - your best bet would be to read the documentation they gave you, and if that doesn't specifically answer your question, call the dealership or the paint protection support number and have a chat to them.

For what it's worth (and I realise it's too late for this for you), paint protection is, in my opinion, an absolute rort - it's useless to start with, and the warranty is almost unclaimable (they'll deny most claims). At that point, you might as well get the car professionally detailed by someone good for a few hundred dollars, and then maintain it properly from that point onward.
    Nothing to see here...
