Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Towing Module Touareg

    Hi all,
    Have a 2008 Touareg and trying to get a big trailer (with electric breakaway unit) hooked up. I had the auto electrician install a Tekonsha electric brake controller, I have now hooked up the trailer and the lights are flashing (LED'S) on the trailer. They now say I need a module fitted at a cost of $800 !!! Anybody else had this experience ??

    Pretty sure VW have a unit for the treg for this that's about $200... talk to your dealer.
