Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Brisbane Pirelli Owner

    Hi All

I'm 3 months into owning an RS GTI Pirelli.
I've got to say how hugely impressed with the car I am.
My family thinks I am a MkV Appreciation Thread all on my own.

I travel 40,000+ Kms each year so I spend a lot of time in my car.

I look forward to participating in great discussions with other VW fans and I love the picture threads.

    D.

    Welcome Dash!

Yeah, the Pirelli's are an awesome car... the few changes really do complete the car I believe.

          Thanks for the welcome guys.
Company car so mods need to be limited.

          What are the oettinger mods?
(Specifically not an invitation to a chip war!)

          Certainly interested in a GTG/Cruise.

Keep an eye on the Clubs, meets and events section for the what's on in Brisbane (unfortunately, we haven't earned a spot on B105 yet ).

From Oettinger, a rimple recalibration of the ECU can put out 224kw and 400 torques.. But if you want to touch a few other components, you could be pushing 243kw and 430 torques... (Oettinger website).

Welcome! you missed out on the GTG we had in Brisbane just yesterday!

I am also a relatively new Pirelli owner in Brisbane too, hopefully I'll catch you around sometime soon

                Hi Bwen

Have been lurking long enough to have followed your purchase of the Pirelli.
Along with a couple of the guys from the GC.

Saw the notice about the GTG too late to change plans.

I can't think of a drive in the last three months that hasn't left a silly grin on my face and even with the huge amount of travel I do each day I still look for excuses to go for a drive.

First car that has made me want to learn how to really drive it properly.

Couple of short, straight, high speed on-ramps in my local area that cause me to chuckle at the expression on people's face as I accelerate past them in on my way to the merge.

Look forward to swapping notes in person in the near future.

Bwen - Did you receive your Pirelli Key Rings yet? Mine only arrived last week!
