Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hello from Belgium

    Hello there,

I bumped on this board while searching for the SMIC air flow mod in the wheel arch.

Since 2005/08/17 I'm the proud owner of a tossa blue Polo 9n3 96 kw.
Car has like 135.000km and is still going strong
Haven't taken much options on the car, comfortline and the little dashboard computer. Car came with steel wheels and have been replaced by old Audi A3 wheels (15")

Other mods which have been done:

    GTI lights
    Ibiza FR air guide
    Cupra D air intake
Cupra D silent blocks (the original ones are crap)
drilled some holes in the wheel arch so the air from the SMIC can escape and removed some plastic in the front of the SMIC, still has to be completed

Last thursday the car has been chipped, estimated at 170bhp, I will put it on a bench later on to know what she gives.

Some pics will follow when I have the time for it.

    Cheers

    Welcome to the forum.

Put some photos up of your ride.

One question, what are these silent blocks you talk about??

Maybe you guys have another name for them, check pic.
The ones from the cupra d are more solid (full plastic) and will last much longer than the original ones. My Seat workshop who does my service told me the original ones are mostly smashed after 40.000 km
