  • New GTI Pirelli owner

    Hi everyone,

I recently sold my APR enhanced 2001 Audi S3 and last Saturday put down a deposit for a black 5 door GTI Pirelli with Rear Sensors and RNS510.

I also considered an Audi S3 (8P), a 370Z and an A5 2.OT Quattro. In the end, I decided to go with the Pirelli because of price, the availability of 5 doors and I kind of liked the idea of having a "special" edition car with not too many other around (from what I read on this forum there are only ca. 400 in the country?)

I am hoping to pick it up by the end of the week!

I will put some pics up afterwards.

    Congrats

You will not regret the purchase. I have had mine for about 6 weeks - 5 door Graphite Blue Pearl, Bluetooth and Rear Parking Sensors. Mine goes in for 1000km service on Monday - am then considering ECU Upgrade to get rid of the turbo lag - depends on affect on warranty. Apparently can get 229Kw and 435 Nm from the Pirelli motor.
    Cheers

      Thanks, mate.

I can't wait to pick mine up from Highway VW. Sometime next week...

I dropped into Spinners Automotive here on the Coast today and had a chat with them about the GIAC tune. They were really helpful and friendly. But then again, so are the guys from Eurotune (APR dealer) around the corner which looked after my Audi S3 for the last couple of years.

I take it from your post that the lag is quite noticeable.. I also hope that the ECU flash will reduce this to some extent.

Do you have the OEM Bluetooth kit? The dealer told me about the standard (ca. $700) and the premium (ca. $2000) options. However, he said that the premium does not work with my Iphone 3g yet?

Then again after scanning this forum, it appears that dealers are installing Parrot kits that are inferior to the genuine European spec OEM kits. Guy from APR in Brisbane seems to offer the installation of the European kit. Not sure about the price though. Decisions, decisions....

Can you tell me whereabouts these guys are on the coast. Is the Eurotune the place on Kortum Drive Burleigh?

I have an 09' GTI and have considerded tuning, but unsure where to go. What did they suggest for your Pirelli, and roughly how much?
