Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi here from SA

Just a quick drop in to say Hi from South Australia
Its a hard one as the moderating team are asking us to say hi and talk a bit about what we do....however what we do is agains forum rules (run a tuning business that tunes VWs are part of what we do at dwtuning.....) However we have been really tied up in development of parts for the R35 GTR and had the first road registered one in Australia. We now export lots of GTR technology worldwide - and I suppose this isnt against forum rules as its not VW or advertising related - look at it there - http://www.willallracing.com.au

Unfortunately in terms of 'post colour' in this intro cars are out life. We dont like long walks on the beach, nor weekends away camping. Cars, cars, development and more cars. It might sound boring, but its fun. Some of you guys might know me/us from magazines over the years. Anyway, thats a 'Hi' and hope to be allowed to speak to more of you soon

Great to have you on the forum, Martin.
Crack the whip on the sponsorship deal - seems like there are a few people on this forum who want to know more about what you do.

Welcome aboard Martin. Just to clarify, we dont want sponsors who are here purely to push their products. All of our sponsors are active members of the forum and in return we give them a very generous sponsorship arangement. They look after our members, and in return we look after them.

On a side note, a firned of mine purchased one of the first %35's that landed, a black one here in NSW. He just sold it to a guy in QLD. Must say, it's quite a car even in standard trim.

Tell us some mroe about your own rides.

And trust me if I was looking to simply sell stuff I wouldnt be wasting my time posting threads about R36s....there are like 3 of them in SA, and we sure arent going to retire on that

What does interest me though is exposing some of the 'smoke and mirrors' that surrounds the tuning scene and some of the claims that are made without being backed up with real hard data. I am probably not the right person to have on the board if the facts dont want to be known

....and I would like to get that little 1.4TSi, pull the blower off it, install something decent like a GT2876RS turbocharger in place of the pea-shooter thats on there from the factory, and try to make 300kw out of it. Now that would be a tidy little VW project

Martin, as a nation Australians, are more into facts than any other nation I know.

As you say no one is going to retire from flashing a few R36s, in fact if you could flash all the performance VWs in Australia, I don't think you would be retiring too soon.

I would be interested in seeing some myths dispelled, if you spend the time to write about it.

                    Hi Martin,

I have just joined this fourm aswell from Adelaide. I remember you from many years ago.......just when you started fueltronics. You did my Chip in my white 1990 N13 Pulsar Q! I went to your house at Winsor Gardens. ( Not a bad memory, hey)

I currently have a 2008 WRX but this R36 has planted a seed in my mind that I want one. It ticks all the boxes for me, just need to tell the wife and work on her!!!

By the way I was very interested in the Dyno of the R36, my WRX with Ecuteck and exhaust went from 133kw to 153kw, almost itentical to the R36. I would love to line on up for comparison.

                    Cheers,

                    Peter

Martin what upgrades have you done to MK5 R32's???

Just about to get one delivered and am looking at options for a modest power upgrade.
