Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Newbie Bora 4Motion pilot

    G'day all,

Had my 4Motion for about six months and love it, although it could use another 100hp! Have been around VWs my whole life. Literally conceived in a Kombi (in Germany, no less) and brought home from the hospital in a Beetle. Learned to drive in a Kombi, first car was a Beetle that I still have. Also have a '69 semi-auto Beetle 'gunna' project, but I'm now sorely tempted to sink some cash into the Bora. I have heard there's not much around for the V6 in the way of go-faster bits, so I am always interested to hear what others have done.

    Keep on Dubbin'

Incase you dont win next Tuesdays lotto, you could also consider an ECU flash...

I got mine flashed with Custom Code (Gavin, H100VW) about 3 months ago and love every bit. Its not a massive power upgrade, but the power delivery is improved, with a few power "holes" sorted.

I can recommend this upgrade personally.

Also, I am yet to do any CAI or exhaust mods, but I have been told the ECU flash will adjust to these mods to give greater improvements.

        Cheers,
        Dave

Congrats on the new car!! You're gonna love it to bits (more than what you do no probably).

I only had a V5 but it was a fantastic car, truly do miss it!
