Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi to all from South Africa

    Hi all.

Just read through a few posts after finding the URL in a GOLF+ mag of mine.
Really been in love with my Golfs for about 17 years now

I enjoy working on them and trying new things. At the moment I've got a 1993 Caddy with 15x7.5 Momo Quasar wheels. Except for the wheels it is still stock with the 1600 motor and 4-speed gearbox.

Got the new engine on the table, trying to complete the build. The new engine will be a 2L 8v with 40.5mm intake and 35mm exhaust valves and a worked head, also MK1 GTi oil cooler housing with 13 row Setrab cooler. The camshaft will be a 288 degree duration item as I have the ECU and software from the old South Africa only Polo Cup.

For a gearbox I will be using the AUG gearbox from the MK1 GTi.

    Pics coming soon

    Cheers mates.

I know it is not a VW but it is so much fun with it's 4AGE-20v engine with 1300 badges still attached.

                  Many Thanks

My little toy is in the process of being repainted and my caddy is my daily hack or rather workhorse.

Hoping to get some more pics on here soon.
