Another Canberran - MK1 Golf GTI, Polo GTI & Audi A4

Hello All!

A quick post to introduce myself. I'm currently on my 7th VW/Audi (three still in my garage), all watercooled, and thought it about time that I join other like-mindeds.

My history is:

• 1978 VW Gold TDI - first car, and loved the diesel as a poor student.
• 1979 VW Golf Auto - got the auto so my girlfriend (now wife - must have done something right!) would be happy punting it around the city.
• Audi 90 Sport - still the best interior in any car I've had.
• VW Golf Mk3 - bought this one whilst living in the USA. Fun to drive a Mexican Golf.
• 2003 Audi A4 - with the CVT (again - wife loves it). Lack of gearchanges still amuses me.
• 1983 VW Golf GTI - the original GTI, and in my opinion still the best. Up for sale, but I won't go into that as I don't want to breach the newbie rules.
• 2008 VW Polo GTI - almost as much fun as the MK1 GTI, but with the added benefit of airbags, aircon, central locking, etc (I must be getting old...)

Cheers! Selling the MK1 was a condition put down by my darling wife so I could buy the Polo (I sold a motorbike and needed something as a daily driver). Of course, if no one really wants it I might just have to keep it...
