Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hello All. Not a VW but that might change

Hi all, names john. been working at vw parra for the past 2 years as weekend concierge (while still at uni).

I have only driven turbo cars, starting with an xr6 turbo, then an s15, then a wrx, and now with another s15 (albeit with alot more power).

Joined this site having ulterior motives, am considering buying mkV GTI, and selling/swapping mine (dont know if people on here are interested in japanese sports cars lol).

Anyway here are some specs and pics on my current ride.
Its a 2002 built AUDM 200sx s15. Motor and driveline have been rebuilt from the ground up by CRD.

Current power output is ~280rwkw in a 1300kg car.

some pics were taken before i got my new plates (yes they are fully sick lol)
i'd post up a mod list but its quite extensive.

car basically is running a td06-sl2 turbo, with all supporting mods.motor has been opened and is running forgies inside. Power is delivered through a skyline r33 gearbox (entire rear end is skyline stuff).

Anyway just a short intro. Hope to one day join this forum with a VW of my own.

p.s. any mkV gti owners want to trade shoot me a pm lol!

    John

Nice car mate. The thing must fly. I considered an S15 (and WRX) myself but ended up in a VW.

How come you've decided to get into a Golf?

      "Weekend concierge" must pay well

ive actually owned both an s15 and a wrx. GTi feels more solid, but it does feel slower. im starting to grow out of the modifying phase now (costs me too much lol) so decided euro is the way to go (chip and tune would be all im doing, and aesthetics)

haha yea. ive been with vw for over 2 years now. and even though i see them everytime, when i drive the gti i cant help but feel that value for money wise (on the 2nd hand market especially) it is great bang for your buck. im actually going to look at a white MY07 3dr dsg with leather and roof next week.

hopefully it will come within my budget, looking to spend around 28-29k :S
