I live in England and drive a 1988 MK1 Golf Cabriolet Auto. It was neglected when I got it and have started to refurb the interior as it was ditched from a leaky roof (common problem) and the usual rainy weather here. Looking forward to the Summer so I can get to grips with the Car which is finished in metallic Hellios Blue with a white roof. I have got a new Grey hood to put on and a navy blue tonnuea cover to finnish off. The interior is grey, with grey carpet so should look ok. I have been given some original wheels, BBS style. It runs really well and the Body work is in great condition, just a good buff up and polish. I have all ready replaced some of the Seals, window scraper and the B Pillar. I am also a member of the MK1 Owners club in the U.K.
It would be interesting to note any of the differences (if any) between the U.K. Spec and those over there in Australia.
