Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hiya. From a split to a T4

Hi everyone...delighted to discover this forum. After months of looking I have finally bought myself a 2.5 lwb T4.

My first VW was a new Golf in '77 followed by a brief liaison with a Sirroco, both fantastic cars. My last vdub was a heavily modified '59 split panel van which is now sold.

Am absolutely delighted with the t4 and have to say it is one of the nicest cars i have ever driven (so far)...in fact I'm more than happy to take the T4 out instead of my wife's '08 Liberty wagon.

I live in the Mornington Peninsula area and am sure looking forward to meeting other t4 owners. It's good to see the t4 starting to attract an enthusiastic following like the t1's 2's and 3's.

....just a pity it's not as fast as my old splitty

Welcome, shame you had to sell the split, would have looked great in your drive side by side with the T4
