Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Greetings from the Nation's Capital!

    Hey everybody!

Used to own a 2001 Honda Integra Type-R, but got over the ricebox phase in 8 years and I also realised how much low and mid-range torque I really craved. Bought my Golf GTI in April 2008, so still haven't owned it for a year, but getting there!

Currently working on doing more modding at the moment as well.

Looking forward to posting here more!

    Cheers!

type-r's arent to bad.. i quite like them infact, drive very well for a n/a car you cnt deny that!

but im sure you'll have a lot more fun and able to find more bolt on mods that would give you a bit more freedom then the type r! (saying that, being a jap car theres heaps out there too i know!) not quite the same tho lol
    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

Welcome mate, I'd love to one day own a DC2R, but I don't know if I could live with the lack of torque....I could live with the sound though

Throw some picks up of your new GTI mate, the white ones look so clean.

          Thanks everyone!

That's right, the DC2R really drove well for an NA, and then I started noticing the lack of torque down the low-end! Well here's the Honda Integra Type-R that I used to own (taken just after selling to my mate):

And here's the VW Golf MkV GTI (After thinking the name Panda didn't really suit it, I named it White Fang instead and thought it was a bit symbolic of its heritage hehe):

It currently has Altezza-style LED taillights, an APR TBE, a Carbonio CAI, and an APR Stage 1 Flash. Right now, I'm trying to save for some nice 18x8.0 BBS CH Blacks or OZ Racing Ultraleggera Blacks and an HPA KW SHS system. Pretty long road ahead of me I'm afraid. :ballandchain:

Should be real satisfied after that though!

I see you got the correct number of doors for a GTI too.
