Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New to the world of water cooled vws

    Hello all,

Just joined VW Watercooled Australia. Have had a squizz about and love what I see. Have been toying with the idea of a watercooled vw for ages and yesterday I finally sold my last aircooled ride. Now I'm looking for an immaculate T3 Caravelle or Twin cab to fill the void.

Any guideance would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

    Michael

Welcome mate, this is a friendly place, hope you stick around.

Have you looked at the T4 Vans? They are getting cheaper and have fewer issues than the T3s. Plus features like Air Con and Power Steer that are nice.

Not bagging the T3s, just for my money I would have a T4 every time.

Thanks for the advice. The 1990 Caravelle GL from what I understand also came with powersteering and air conditioning. I kind of like the wedge shape too.

Will definitely take a look at a T4 to compare.

      Cheers

      Michael
