Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    another perth newbie

    hey all,

    i think i count as a vw nut....

    on to my 4th wagen now, a mk4 r32 #088/200, complete with plates 'uberwagen'
    (thanks to my wifey)
    in the garage is a 71 bug slowly coming back together,
    plus ive had a mk3 gl and and ol' kombi witha Messerschmitt engine slapped in the back.....
    didnt work tho!

      Welcome Aboard R32 - A mk 4 for your 4th is an omen of some sort?

      I looked at R32s but at the time were a little out of my financial reach

        Seems like you have had the "bug" for a while.
        Maybe you can catch up with a few of us on 18th Jan... there's a from JH VW in Vic Park at 10am to Pt Walter at 11am for a byo bbq and a lay on the grass under a tree.

                dont think ill come along till the r is fixed.... some prick thought a custom paint job is what it needed and its got two head to tail light key scratches....

                both sides

                but i might come anyway.... to hell with it

                    parked in northbridge for perhaps 10 mins, came back.....

                    it would have been worth them doing it for me to catch them doing it....

                      I've got a few nice self-inflicted scratches on mine Not as bad as yours, but I still want to get them touched up though... I'd probably end up getting the bumpers resprayed too $$$ so i just try to ignore them.

                        Uber ...Were there any security cameras near where it was parked? May be worth going back for a look or contacting the council.

                          tried that.
                          it was parked near the horseshoe bridge next to the train station,
                          and all the cameras pointing at it cant be viewed unless the police seize them.
                          which they wont because no person was harmed.....

                            the mk4's are sure a peice of art, i was 99% there buying one, but the seller called me the night before and wanted a further 2k.. sadly 2months later its still for sale!

                            and thats F#$%ed up about the scratches
