I've just moved over to Melbourne with my Australian wife from the UK. On Saturday we took delivery of a Golf GT Sport TSI (no options) and I'm loving driving it so far. I had a little bit of a worry that the rear windscreen wiper wasn't working but a quick fiddle with the fuse box seemed to solve that.
Although I've been driving VWs for the last 13 years or so this is my first Golf (the others were all little Polos) and I'm very glad with it so far.
Looking forward to absorbing lots of knowledge from those of you who've got more experience on this site, and I hope one day to be able to contribute myself.
