Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Newbie (sort-of) in Hobart

    Hi everyone!
Just thought as a newbie to the forum I should introduce myself!
I'm Sam and have just picked up a 1996 Golf CL for my girlfriend. I'm not new to the VW scene- there's also a 1962 Meyers Manx in the garage to keep the golf company
As well as the VW's, I'm a big Euro fan (current president of CMI, the Italian car club in Tas and also a French car club member and hang out on the Aussie Frogs forum a fair bit).

As 'pet mechanic' for the gf, I'll probably be posting questions etc a fair bit so be gentle!
I'm also on the lookout for a second-hand Haynes manual for the golf if anyone has one for sale

    Cheers guys,
    Sam

        Thanks guys

I don't think I'd be too popular if I took the new toy in hillclimbs somehow... Just as well I've got the 205 to play with (when I put it back together)!!
