Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Hey everyone

Hey pals. Obviously I’m new here (although use other car forums a lot in the past). I’m a bit of a car nut mostly Japanese and Euro. My current baby is. 2015 WRX. I’ve got a bit of a family history with VW, my oldest sisters first car was a convertible ‘72 beetle in 2005 (she still owns in storage) which first sparked my VW love. She then got a new beetle turbo but unfortunately the previous owner had spliced and mangled a bunch of wiring so it was nothing but trouble. There’s also a couple of other VW in my family, a T-Cross and an Amarok (which is being replaced with the newbie Adventura v6 after being on order for what feels like years for my brother in law &#128514. My personal experience, I own a 2007 Caddy which I took off-road once to go camping and ripped a hole in the sump. It sat for a few years but I repaired it in 2022 and am now just sorting out an airbag light (that’s for another post &#128514. The reason I’m here though, is recently my PJ Ranger got stolen (let’s be honest, not a bad thing &#128514, I was looking at a PX ranger but after driving my brother in laws Amarok I realised how much more refined they were. I ended up finding a 2014 Amarok highline auto for a good price. This is my second car so I didn’t have a big budget so it does have higher KMs (just ticked over 250k yesterday). So far it’s been an incredible Ute and a very good buy. It does have full service history and has been very well looked after. I have a few questions about it, some upgrades I want to do and a couple of little minor issues I’ve found that I’d love to be pointed in the right direction. I also just want to get involved in this community and share my love of the VW.

    Thanks! Carlos
