Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Qld - Needed: Experienced professional to finish T6 camper conversion - 1/2 done.

    Hi,
Recommendation needed! I have a nice VW T6, SWB, only 50,000km. Conversion was started by a company that normally does big RVs. He finally said he doesn't have enough time.

    Few things left to do:
1.Make end base for the bed when the new rock and roll bed is flat. I may already have one made, or it may be able to be adjusted.
    2. Kitchen cupboards with fridge were made too short. THey need to be made higher to fit drawers for basic sink supplies. So they need to be increased in height by about 10 or 12 cm and drawers installed. Kitchen area currently has no storage. Could possibly use excess wood from the countertop (I have heaps of extra) to make cupboard walls higher, and make drop down doors with a pull out cutlery box.
    3. cut the countertop to fit the thetford cooker sink combo, new. Template already cut. Countertop already bought (solid wood)
3.Connect the gas to the cooktop. Gas box already installed. Needs approval. Cook top and sink and tap newly bought and ready.
    4. One or two minor other things, hang thins on walls.

Anyone know someone experienced with VW conversions in the Brisbane area would would do this work?

    thank you,
    T.Smith
