We have had our 2013 T5 Transporter camper for a few years - diesel, DSG 4motion - it has been a great vehicle for travelling through Australia, powerful and comfortable.
One minor hiccup - we had an occasional brief grating noise in the gear box, identified through forums like this one. We discovered that VW had updated the ECU software for the DSG, which got rid of this particular bug, but for some reason didn't see it necessary to tell owners and update their software.
Recently I paid my local service centre to update the software - now the minor? irritation has gone away and I feel that the gear change is better.
But I can't get anyone at VW to tell me why a bug fix should cost me money!
