I’m new to this forum and to VWs in general. I recently scored a couple of Mk1 1.5 diesels and am currently trying to make one reasonable car out of the two.
My green one was running, has 813000km on the odo and is probably too rusty to save. The orange one has a much better body and low mileage but had no running gear, and lots of other stuff was raided from it to keep the green one going. It was crashed in the ‘80s and unfortunately whoever did the repairs didn’t rust proof properly afterwards so one of the sills is rusting from the inside out, but I should be able to keep it from spreading too much more for a few years at least. I’ve already swapped the motor into the orange one but am having a hard time finding parts to rebuild/reseal the driveshafts so I’ve posted in the Mk1 forum asking for assistance haha.
