Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2000 T4 transporter

Hi, I have recently bought a 2000 model T4 Transporter (2.5 petrol). It was cheap as it has a few kilometres (over 300K) and has been well used by visitors to Australia, tripping up and down the coast. (It has the standard grass skirt bobble doll stuck on the dash.)For this reason I am expecting to have to do a bit of maintenance and nurse it to some good surfing trips up the coast. After buying the car I have done a bit of searching on the internet and that is where I came across this forum.I think I will be able to add some things from the experiences I am bound to go through, but hope to also get some good tips from those who have had a long exposure to the VW and in particular the Transporter.
