Hi people.
I’m currently shopping for an Amarok. I’m thinking that a 4x4 dual cab ute for family holidays and firewood hauling. I initially shortlisted the ranger and hilux, until I drove the ranger and it was too truck-like.
After reading the online reviews, the Amarok was touted as being most SUV like and beat handling. What helped me make up my mind was a couple of YouTube videos from South African guys testing the Amarok 2.0TDI vs the Ranger 3.2. They raced the two cars on a dirt track. The little Amarok hosed the ranger three times: unladen, and with a 1/2 tonne load on the tray, and then with the load in the tray and towing a 1/2 tonne trailer.
I just test drove an Amarok 2.0L and I’m impressed with the ride and the performance.
