Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all,

    Just posting to introduce myself.

I'm a VW / Skoda driver for the last 7 years after a long history with Holdens ( last one was a VT supercharged Calais - good car too)

I decided after the Calais was getting a bit long in the tooth to look at something else and the Golf caught my eye.
After a test drive of one and a Tiguan, my missus convinced me we needed something bigger than a Golf,so we ended up with a Tiguan 132 4motion and even though I hated SUV type vehicles, I really enjoyed driving it, and it's versatility.

So with the new found love of VW's we actually purchased a 2015 Polo for the wife and it's been humming along just fine, apart from the usual DSG issue of off idle take up of the clutches. So far all good except for the battery dying after 3 1/2 years.

In the meantime I've sold the Tiguan and bought a Skoda, Octavia RS wagon in June this year, picked up as a demo with 1200 ks and am absolutely loving it. It's got as much grunt as the supercharged Calais with more gears and less weight.

Anyway that's me for now, cheers.

            Thanks,

I'll look into doing that.(I'll have to check with the social director regarding dates etc)

I didn't realise there were any organised groups in Adelaide that were into VW products, besides the older type cars.

            Cheers
