Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi I am a new member, I have had my ‘15 103tsi wagon since March 16 bought as a demo with 1991kms now has just shy of 170,000km.

I’ve driven her all around Queensland & NSW on country roads, highways, dirt roads, around town I have given this car a fair bit of curry, tops out at 223km down hill(on a private road) but always regularly serviced on time with correct oils and parts. Have replaced the timing belt at 130ish Kms oops supposed to be 105kms🙊
Original rotors, Second set of pads (replaced with remsa)

    Has been pretty carefree motoring.
    Under warranty I’ve had:
one power window switch replaced(I think it got wet)
Chrome Trim surround around gear selector chipped off(replaced whole shifter and surround)
    Air con compressor + regass/resealed
Recently a big one mechatronics unit replaced.

I really love this car, my first ever new car.
I haven’t done many mods. I put on a good quality uv darkest legal tint, slimline pers plates, replaced rear muffler with a twin tip for those must have gear change farts lol

And that’s about it so far..

Pretty keen on remapping the ECU

I think these motors are good to milk a bit more out of, the mk7.5 is 110kw and same motor. factory tunes are always pretty conservative keeping in mind some people probably occasionally put 91 in the tank when the can’t get 98..

I’d be happy with 180hp and 290nm maybe a Revo tune, was also looking at racechip or bluefin for cheapness/ warranty but I think I’d rather a good quality remap nothing too extreme.

By the way Ben is my name. See you around
