Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all,
Female, VW Touareg driver here. I have a 2016 V6 TDI Touareg. I’m not particularly car savvy. I have a brother who is a mechanic, but doesn’t live close enough to be much help in Brisbane. So I thought I’d try the forums for some advice when needed!

Hi JSCA92. Welcome to VWWatercooled. 'Love your ride. I'd have got my missus one of those if she wasn't infatuated with it's four-ringed cousin. Hopefully, not many of your posts will be asking for help for broken stuff.

Hi SteveMC, I can’t blame her, those audi’s are nice! Unfortunately, I’ve already got a problem. I’m chasing a new mechanic as I want to get away from the dealerships (so if you can recommend one that’d be great)... I’ve got two lights out (right side light and right daytime running light). I’ve been told the daytime running light should be a warranty job as it shouldn’t have blown yet, but need to do more research

Nothing to research, the car is a 2016 as you say. Still under warranty. Go back to the dealers for warranty work...
Independent mechanics (even VW Specialist) will not want to get involved in warranty work...
