  • WA VW Tiguan Wind Noise

I have recently purchased a VW Tiguan Adventure. Very good car except for wind noise heard from front doors or windows at speeds above 60kmh. Marked increase in noise level at 100 - 110kmh. Tested several other Tiguans at dealership with same experience. Disappointed that VW Australia have advised this noise level is normal. My measurements of noise level show ten fold increase in noise level adjacent to windows relative to centre of cabin. Looking for other owners who are suffering same problem Also advice from VW Australia about any noise level data available from VW Germany.

It is normal so VW are not telling porkies. I think someone said in this forum that a prominent media personality returned their car because of it and got their money back.

My Passat does the same but it has windshields on it Only does it badly in certain wind conditions Make sure there is not a gap between door seals. Was a thread here about putting 4 mm rubber through the door doorseal Did it on mine but hasnt made noticeable difference so I just dont worry about it..

I’m wanting to know the same for a 2015 Tiguan as the wind buffeting / resonance with the front windows down is unbearable.
Do these windshields on the doors help this at all?
