  • WA Caddy GTi Build Commencing

    'Sup guys.

Adam from Perth here. I've sold my Clio 182 Sport Cup and bought a rough old 2005 Caddy SWB 1.9TDI. It's a big trade-down in performance terms but my two retired greyhounds appreciate not having to share a tiny back seat.

From the bodywork it looked like it doubled as stumps in the cricket nets for a while. Mechanically it seems too-good for it's 300,000km. And it's the cheapest one I've ever seen sold that wasn't being wrecked - so it has that going for it.

There's no way I'm living with it like it is for any longer than it takes to find a donor GTi to refurbish it with some nice things. With any luck I'll have one in the next two weeks and let's see how far things go from there.

...I'm hoping there are some helpful and sharing people on the forum for tips

    Welcome to the Caddy Club!

They might not be very powerful but the torque is good and brings a smile to my face everytime a Commodore tries to take me on a two lane roundabout and then finds out the hard way that the Caddy's stock handling is not as poor as they had estimated and it has enough torque to power out of a roundabout leaving them no room for them to complete overtaking move before the merge.

Good luck with the upgrades and look forward to seeing how it turns out.
