What a nice little car! Picked it up and drove 1500km immediately, and the next weekend was up in one of the State forests in the Sunshine Coast hinterland in rain and mud (not intentionally). No, it's not one of my old Pajeros or the Patrol, but it's quite surefooted and just does it's dieseling thing for km after km. Quite impressed, actually. Not sure the heated seats will get much of a workout in QLD.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
