Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Queensland Drive this weekend?

The Porsche Club of Queensland are heading from Brisbane to Maleny via Kenilworth and the Obi Obi Road for lunch at the Mapleton Tavern on Sunday (20th). Maybe they'd like some 'little brothers & sisters' as company.

Keen for a drive Dave, but not back up that way again.

Will more than likely end up down the coast, via Tambo/Hinze Dam.

I would be keen for the Mt Tamborine/Coast drive on sunday.

Or even Mt Glorious if you want to keep it closer to Brissy

Did montville, maleny the other week too.

Would be a good chance for me to meet some of you guys.

Are they going to mind random cars crashing their cruise?!

Not sure, Alex. Fellow VAG folks ... probably not (as long as it's not a complete take-over).

Actually the drive is for members only though in saying that they obviously can't stop you driving on the same route if that is what you choose to do. The club is quite happy to accept members who don't drive a Porsche and a lot of us join as they have an excellent motorsport section with monthly track days as well as frequent organised drives and weekends away etc.

              Cheers Al

So why don't we just organise a drive of our own?

I agree mate a VW Brisbane Drive..

Would love to see some other local VW's as I have only seen one other mk1 Cab here in QLD, apart from a couple on forecourts for sale.

Yeah sort it out mate !!

Even better if it is southside, near the bay

Like I said, I'm keen to go for a drive somewhere - Gold Coast is where I'd rather go (as I haven't been up Tambo or 'cruising' for ages!), but will settle for Glorious/Nebo. Some social, some driving would be a good mix so we can actually mingle and not just drive all day.

I'd be interested for a drive on Sunday. I'd have to agree with Jon in regards to heading out to Nebo and Tambo. What are other people up for?

Guys Nebo Glorious is a short, 30k round trip fun drive from the Gap. The coffee shop at Mt Nebo beside the post ofice is just amazing, and is in the first 10k's after a nice short climb. Makes the other Mt Glorious coffee shop look terrible! Great food, good prices and a great drive afterwards. My girlie agrees, and we go up there a bit, just to eat ( but I get to have a bit of a drive ).

If my girl is up for it, I'd be up for a Sunday mid morn, she gets back from Honkers tomorrow morn, and has been suffering in Italy for the last 3 weeks. Poor bitch!

She may be a bit zonked!

That said, I'd probably go anyway!
