Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

So anyone have the official results ?
I had to split early to go suit shopping with the Mrs.

I was first up and pulled 120Kw, which is 9 more than last year. I can put all of that down to the new exhaust.
How did the V8 Combi do ?
        MK4 GTI - Sold
        MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
        MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

You were in the red Mk4 that passed the two GTI's (Blue Graphite and Candy White) on the highway?

I can post two other accurate figures and one semi accurate in the absence of official results, we left a little early do I didn't get to see the final ones.

          Mk5 GTI stock 123kw
          Mk5 GTI ST3 148kw

Guy's GTI monster was having trouble staying on the ground and the official figure was around 230ish.

I didn't see Dave's Polo GTI either, unless he rolled up after we left at around 12:30.

Ok everyone sorry for the delay in posting the results. I packed up yesterday arvo and went straight to my best mate's bucks night and got home at 3.40am this morning so sleep became a major priority after being up pretty early to set for Dyno Mania. Results are as follows....

MAJOR SPONSOR'S CHOICE sponsored by DAS RESTO HAUS - Peter Page (Yellow 63 beetle drag car)
This car was chosen for it's absolute attention to detail and presentation.

Once again a big thank you to all our sponsors for supporting us once again and next year will be bigger and better than this year. It's great to see this event grow from last year and hopefully even more will come and spectate and compete next year as well.

Also thanks to Alan Agyik from Das Resto Haus for being our major sponsor this year and also to Trevor and his staff from Custom Exhaust Specialists for hosting us again and making everyone feel welcome.

I must also thank Jen, Lisa, Nanna and the girls for organising the food and running the food and drinks all day. Lastly thanks to my brother Troy and Rod Richardson for their help and to Pete Page for helping me co- host this event again this year.

              Thank you everyone!!

Dave Mack didn't make it there yesterday. Broke a tooth and had an untimely trip to the dentist in a bit of pain which i could relate to as it happened to me only a few months back.

It's possible that this was another entrant and your score was missed as it didn't register on the dyno

Or the other option is that the mk4 has been modded to it's limits whereas the stock mk5 GTI has a lot more potential (see Guy's for a still drivable GTI - over 200kw).

Plus the mk5 GTI is lighter, handles better and is nicer to drive especially with DSG.
