I think the problem is on your end.
Apparently the slightly more blurry ones (but imo, better colour) was Dad's Nikon V1 with his new Nikkor 10-100mm (multiply this by 2.7 for optical conversion) f/4.0-5.6 (Dad said the AF is pretty slow on that but otherwise really good), most of the more crispy ones were taken on my 550D with a Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens.
