Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TAS Hobart: Meet, greet & drive

    Hey guys,

Toying up the idea of a meet for people in Tas, more specifically Hobart.

Already have 3-4 people confirmed for a run, but thought I'd open it up to others.

At this stage planning to do a drive on Saturday the 1st of March from 10am, to meet in Hobart (location to be confirmed), then a social drive up around fern tree/mountain/longley vicinity.

Nothing is set in stone ATM, but anyone is welcome to chime in with ideas/suggestions.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Well looks like it'll be a small group, but still going ahead none the less.

Might have to arrange another meet down the track, maybe later this month then.

Would be good to see a fellow VR there

What happened to the R32? I have seen it around a bit end 2013/start 2014. What colour are the wheels going?

Some chick with a hire car, who didn't know how to use one of those foot park brakes, managed to let her hire car go sailing across the car park (on it's own I think?) and of course who's car is it going to find among all the cars in the car park? At least she was decent enough to leave her details.

Front right copped it. Looks like new bumper, right lights and squirter. Maybe more. Lucky I'm with Shannons and they have been great

I can think of a few Tassie VW people.

                          Should ring Andrew Robinson.
                          Valver if he is alive.
Ed and Mike C im sure still have some VW's.
Ummm and then all the random Mk1 guys gumtree each week.
The guy with the Mk1 that is putting a 16v in it with the toledo he is wrecking.
                          Is brackie still alive?
Plus there is a that phat Mk4 on RS's

Here is some photo's I had saved on my computer from when I first joined the forum. I wasnt there but it sure had me on the edge of my seat on my dial up internet getting pumped for my L-plates.

I still think Tassie is the home of Mk1's is AUS. So make me jealous again and get together for some rad times!
