  • Dyno Day

    Hey guys.

Ive exchanged a couple of emails with Beninca motors in regards to holding a dyno day. Seems like it could be quite an affordable way to waste a day.

It seems they charge a fee for the day. And not a per car fee. But having said that if we were to get a bit of interest it would be quite cheap I think!

anyways ill post up what Joe said to me via email and ill leave it to you guys to give me your impressions. Im thinking add $5 to $10 per person to cover a BBQ and yeah. Let me know what you think. It would have to be on a saturday as well.

    Hello Tim

Yes we can help. We have conducted similar days previously.

We have a 4 X 4 dyno. Usually FWD first, then 4X4 I don’t think you have any RWD. But anyway grouped.

On the cars I presume it easy access to connect “chains” to hold front of car from going sideways. ( No under body panelling to access to any cross member or hooks.

We can manage comfortably 40 cars in one day. Total cost $550 including GST

Power curve print out with speed error check. Extra cost for anyone who wants a mixture trace. $11 per car

I presume you will have officials to organize. There is a disclaimer register for each member to sign.

You will need to bring your own BBQ and Coffee urn.

    Thank you

    J Beninca

I'm new to these events. Do you get a chance to tune the car on the Dyno or do just bung it on and get told what the output is?

I have a K-Jet setup on my MK1 and I'd like the opportunity to get the mixtures right. Is this possible during a Dyno day?

bung it on and see what your car is making. The mixture trace is also good cos it can give you an indication if your car is running lean and what not.

Its more of a social thing than anything really. Also good for those boys that are chipped and wanna see where they are at.

Id say that you would require your own personal dyno time which usually gets billed per hour by most workshops.

yeah if we get enough interest ill enquire about booking a date.
But ill probly have to fork out money up front for it which is why i wanna see who is up for it first. If we dont get around 20 people then i dont think ill bother

just putting a bit of a feeler out there to see if people really wanna do this or not.
No need to be to stressed about money up front.

I dont think the Lancer would be able to turn the rollers!!! I would do better on a BMX!!!
