    Motorplex Visit

    I went with a group of friends from another forum to the motorplex the other night and had a bit of fun.

    The best run I had was 14.054. I seemed to average 14.0XX most of the night so I am pretty happy with the result.Thanks to launch control I was getting a pretty consistent 60ft time of around 1.9 but it does run out of puff at the top end. Not sure if I want to go to the next stage as I probably won't stop after that until I'm Stage 3.

    The car is Stage 1 APR with a Carbonio intake and H&R lowering springs. I didn't perform any weight reduction on the night. I left my after market sound system in (amps and subwoofer) and had my laptop, cameras and suitcase because I had driven up from down south that evening.

    One of the guys from our group took a few videos. Here is the one he put on youtube.

      It wasn't a G6E it was an F6 Typhoon, you can hear his turbo spooling, he just couldn't get his power down. He runs in the low 12's when he can get the power down, this time round it just didn't happen for him. His launch was ok but his mid was terrible.

      I went up against a stock auto CV8 Monaro a few times which was doing mid to low 14's and I was happily beating him every time. The Tiguan surprised a lot of people. We had a few Golf R's in our group and I think the best time for our VW crew was a 12.4 from a Golf R.

      There was also a Stage 1 OPC Astra there. He did a 14.255 against my 14.078 (*my third best). I think the 14.255 was his best for the night. It can be tricky to get that power down in a FWD manual car I guess.

        Surprised you didn't try jettisoning your luggage and spare wheel to see if you couldn't crack into the 13's.

            Good work Wynnston! - You can take out the rear seat & passengers seat & will save you almost 100kg's - but you are right, its a pain to do it.
