Only the video went grey and a bit flashy with a blank grey screen. I didn't get epileptic fits though, that must just be you.

At least I was in the beginning of the video Part2/2 of mine is going up overnight.

Only because you drive a manual do I let you get away with that.

Interesting, thanks. I'd saved in a different file format to usual. Was H.264 when I usually use Mpeg4. It seems to corrupt the file. Wile recompile and upload.

That's not idle banter! You're talking about lines. That's awesome!
Let me add to the discussion: 8:25 - you linked up Karousel beautifully (and you knew it), but I didn't see it happen again
In general, I'd like to see you using more of the track width. Tighter entries and let your exits wash out.

What's that annoying chime sound coming out of the cones? Which gear are you in? Should be third and slingshotting much quicker out of there. Treat it like a corner.
              Who's your co-pilot?

              • Here's the video correct. It's currently uploading, should be good around 9am.

Ben, us petrol folk would likely be in 2nd through the witches hats last week. My quickest through there was 55km/h.

Carl, I haven't yet seen your video but do recall following you, as Ben said, use all the black stuff you can, an extra feet or two of width makes a huge difference on entry and exit.

I'll let you know what gear I use next month in the Golf.

                    hehehe

                    Here is part2/2.

Also I am guilty of going through the witches hats probably a bit slow on about half of my laps, especially before they widened them a bit. My god damn 2nd gear is so freaking long, I can do 115km/h (speedo) in it, yet other gears are nice and relatively short.

                    • So what's a good camera setup that will get me all those neato readouts?

You need a camera and gps logger. Harry's Laptimer for iPhone is probably the cheapest, most accessible to use. Just need phone, external gps (at least 4hz, ideally upto 10hz) and bluetooth obd. All up around $250 (excluding phone).

I use a gtech fanatic RR as my lap timer and would overlay the data in RaceRender. I've stopped overlaying data and posting it for happy laps. Gtech is very similar to PerformanceBox, it's a 10hz gps logger.

                        • I have a proper phone, so I can't use that app I guess?
I have tried Torque Pro for android... Works great (I have an OBD dongle) but I can't extract the damn videos off the phone! I'm thinking there must be some all in one gopro type cam that integrates with gps/obd?

I too have a proper phone Torque pro worked well, I actually managed to get a video off it with telemetry I can't remember how though because I stumbled across it one day so it happened by accident. I saw that Harry's laptimer has made it to Android finally but I think only the 'rookie' version not the 'pro' version.

                              • I don't condone posting happy lap videos with speedo overlay, because we don't want to advertise track speeds. I only posted mine because I was in a diesel Polo, always braking before the kink and maintaining a very safe and reasonable speed. But you won't see me posting another HL video with overlay.
