I expect they'll give you a map, once you've paid your 10 bucks...

They handed out printed directions last year, so its handy to have a navigator if you get left behind at traffic lights.

Yeah, I'll probably get up Sunday morning and check the rain radar before deciding. Anyone done some detective work (like last year) and worked out where its going yet?

Haven't seen anything yet - perhaps Mandurah council has been warned not to leak it online this year

                    Bull**** secret location.......
....what's the point in having something mildly interesting for the general public to do at a boring time of year and then keeping it a secret so noone will turn up?

There is little enough to do in Perth as it is. Typical small town mentality.

No idea if anyone went or not.
Couldn't be bothered after last year.
Meet up on a random carpark in the centre of perth, stand around for an hour, then take off in a convoy.....well not a convoy really....more like 4 cars at a time going through traffic lights. Then on to Mandurah down a highway, where everyone parks up again, this time for several hours......for no reason.......because noone knows it's there! And why is it in Mandurah, because let's be honest, who wants to go to mandurah from perth to see some german cars?. Not even a nice drive, or a nice location. It was just a major hassle for nothing that wasn't already being done in the first carpark. And don't forget the 40 minutes waiting to get through the last set of traffic lights to get into the location.

So this year i believe it was in Yanchep. Yeah better location, but still pointless if Joe Public doesn't know about it. It's basically a coffee run like any other. Only this time you have to pay $10 before you get the map of where you're going!

Northam was a good location and a good setup and there was always a good turnout of cars and public. Seems that the point is a little lost nowadays and i don't know what the reason is but why bother!?

Well, it was my first free weekend for quite a while so I had to go. And yes, it was to Yanchep, up the coast road, so a bit of a funeral procession really with a single lane and 50k speed limit for much of the way. The weather was kind though ... only the odd light shower along the way and when parked up.

We had been requested to stay til 3 but I snuck out at 1230 having achieved my mission ... quizzing those on Michelin rubber as I'm thinking of getting some PS3's.

Oh, and for some of the way I was following a mk4 GTI with consular plates. He peeled off midway though, so I dont know where he was from, but could have been German consul staff checking things out (the consul general was invited apparently). He was probably crying a little bit inside, watching all those autobahn bashers just rolling along in 3rd gear the whole way.
