Nice pictures everyone!
Also loved seeing the MINI (although not so 'mini') and the fellow Citroen

Anyone who had a half decent thought (i only read 2 of them in the whole facebook battle) got immediately shafted by the group.
In the end we have rules which we have to play by and most of our Euro crowd tend to follow them pretty well.Last edited by team_v; 26-08-2013, 03:47 PM.

Internet is a public area. DS meets are like those in the movies where fully sic cars come and show off (both legal with mod plates evwrywhere and not so legal), except we live in a real world where it is so easy for police to see when and where it's gonna take place without the need of a highly trained and intelligent spy or undercoveractually they may have one, his name is 'Google'.

Well obviously it would be easy to find its on, would almost be hard not to know.
Bringing in police from over the state, setting up defect stations at both exits and filling all the side streets with police cars and bikes, with the sole intention of going over as many cars as possible, with some officers basically openly admitting they were there to target enthusiasts to raise revenue, is a low act for whoever was in charge. Seems to very much go against all the **** they have said in the past about them not targeting us, and these sort of things being "random".
It's not just a case of "keep modifications legal and you don't have to worry", they were picking apart everything trying to fine us. I'm fairly sure my window tint is legal, and others have proven their instruments were not calibrated properly and we're giving very false readings yesterday. To fight it though would mean a lot of messing around and taking time off work, so it isn't worth it. I'll pay the fine and consider my self lucky, considering I got off very lightly compared to some.
I'm sure if they started doing the same at these euro meets, those of you who see nothing wrong with what happened at downshift yesterday would quickly change your minds.

I'm originally from north qld, the largest car show we have is the Ingham car show and every year it's targeted by the police to the point of them ordering carsb removed from tailers to be checked for defects.
Let me make that clear, cars that have been specifically trailered to and from the event to comply with road rules because they were fitted out for the burnout competition the night before the event were being (in some cases forcibly) rolled off trailers to be defected even if registration plates were removed from the vehicle.
Try to do the right thing and your screwed either way, we were being treated like criminals even tho we had gone to great lengths to do the right thing.

TBH I don't have a problem with police presence however after hearing what went on at Downshift it sounds like their attitude could do with some adjustment. Especially after reading what the guy said about his new VF commodore. With their poor attitude it sounds like even I may run into a problem having a turbo-petrol vehicle on my P's even though I have an exemption (power-weight ratio form).Very disappoint.....

Attitude does make a BIG difference.
Look at below:
QLD Police and Supercars | Downshift
I know the person in one of the cars, he is very well spoken and diplomatic. Even how he spoke to me about another person who is known to have given griefs to some her subordinates. But on Renault HL he drives like a 3 wheeled maniac on corners!Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD
