QLD EOI - Next Euro Meet

Hi peeps,

I think it is about time we had another euro meet don't you think? I've organised one of the Newmarket meets before and have been to most of the meets over the past year but now I see the usual meet spot has changed since my visit. So I thought I'd ask you guys;
When would be an appropriate time?
Where would be a good place for the meet?

I'd be happy with Newmarket again but it was getting a little cramped in there with the now larger community attending them. So I'm open to advice.

Friday night is usually the better option for a gathering since most people have finished work.
Bear in mind we have Alex's "welcome back" cruise on 10 February and the Happy Laps on 24 February.

Also have the Mighty Car Mods meet potentially happening some time in late Feb with a good chance that Marty & Moog will make an appearance. I'm a fan of their show so I'd def go to that, but at this stage it's unconfirmed.

The Mt.Gravatt carpark seemed pretty good but New Market has better lighting for photos and stuff, doesn't really bother me as long as you can make it with a couple of weeks notice Ill be there with bells on.

Ill also go the MCM meet if they make that, we should get the VW community in there

Ok well I'm thinking the 15th of Feb would be ok. I'm trying to stick to Fridays as previous comments have requested it and previous meets have been on Friday evenings/nights. As far as venue goes I'm unfamiliar with Mt Gravatt as I've never been to a meet there and apparantly Newmarket has better lighting??

In short I'm thinking Friday 15th Feb beginning around the 7pm-7:30pm time @ Newmarket in the downstairs parking area (old venue). I'll set up a proper thread on Sunday if this gets positive replies. Also does anyone know when/where the MCM meet is at the end of Feb?

The MCM guys haven't confirmed anything yet unfortunately. I've been checking their forums and Facebook page and so far the only thing they've said is that they're aiming for late Feb. The had a MCM meet a few weeks ago to gauge the fanbase here and they had quite a good turnout, so Marty and Moog said they'll try and make the trip.

OK well how about the 17th. I know it is a Sunday but this way it isn't too close to Happy Laps on the 24th. Unless you guys are happy with it on the 22nd Friday two days before Happy Laps. I'd like to keep it on a Friday evening but its up to you whether you think it having it 2 days before happy laps is a bit much.
