  • Branko, Steve, the photos turned out great! I finally got to see this thread as I was capped for the last few days last year Your touch-up skills are awesome too Branko - I can ALMOST see my car without the dents!

Great spot for dinner too, at Jouliana's. Nice one George!

It was great to meet some new members, and also some interstate members too. We gotta do something this month too haha.

    • Hahah cool, I could reapply your textured trim on the left side if you want

Yeah definitely, we should all organize to do something this month on a Friday night or something along those lines.

Or... we could all meet up, and go together for the drags on Wednesdays, that could definately be interesting. But yet again, people work... Hmnn I shall have to think more about this.

        • I say... this.... FRIDAY! The sooner the better to be honest... Any more cool cruise ideas with decent scenery? I looked around my local industrial estates, they put speed humps everywhere since the last time I hooned there . They're pretty much out of the question. I was told about some cool looking places around balmain, old train docks or something? Anyone from around there?

          • Bring on the meet. Ray, the way you described Redfern sounded ok, but I don't know about the surroundings? Bit dodge?

Branko, i second your statement about the cops. Nearly shat a hole through my seat as i ripped it past cops at 100 (in 60 zone) when everyone left..I saw them turn at the end of the median strip so i dipped through as many corners as i could and got myself lost until I found my road about 10 mins later haha. Nothing yet thank goodness.

            • Haha the place is called Carriageworks and occupies what used to be the Redern trainyards. I just thought it was a good photo op but that's all it is to be honest.

              • Sounds like a good place for some pics and for me to have some more practise with my camera skills

Also we need to consider making this not as close as possible to any other meet that we are having anytime in the near future!

Easy there Tiger!!! You need to give people time for this. Also if everyone one is interested to have something like this of a Friday night or something like that then we can start a new thread or something, something that is clear and precise about what will happen, I'm all for taking photos someone will just have to photoshop my Porsche wheels back on for it

                  • Hey guys (and ms. Fuzion!!) it was great to meet up with you all. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it was good to put people to nicknames as you tend to build a picture of forum members in your head of what they are like.
Thanks heaps for making the effort Fuzion and Floody, pity you couldnt hang around for the awesome pizzas, it was great to meet you. Floody, those tyres were certainly worn off square on the edges mate, sgn of good hard driving around corners! Fuz, that would have to be the most tasteful Mk4 I have seen, and so clean.
The Mk3s were fantastic, Steve, yours looks great and sounds even better! The green one looked awesome too. Sorry we left the Maccas fellas behind but it was great that you managed to find us at the pizza place, thanks.Geoge, loved the Jetta mate, it was great to meet you. Thats a nice area you live in.
Thanks for the pics too guys, Steve, every time I looked you had your face in the camera, using Georges tripod??? Camera one fellas!!!!!!!
I drove down from Forster for this get together and returned at 6 the next morning, about 3 hours each way with the dumb "holiday road traffic management" up the coast there. I have never seen so much held up traffic with 40km/h speeds on the Newcastle expressway.
I got back to Tassie without any problems, did 3,962 kms in 9 days, only saw 2 Polo GTIs in Ozland and one was Floodys.
The Koni coilover kit was waiting for me here so I will post an article soon on them and what I find with them.
I couldnt believe the security presence at Homebush, major overkill, especially when Neil pulled the bollard out of the ground for 1.5 seconds before putting it back!! Was fantastic to meet you mate.
Returning from the pizza place to homebush surprised me Steve, I couldnt remember all those turns and culdersacs getting there!!!!
Anyway, great to meet you all, see you all again soon!!

                    • We're all very glad that you decided to come along, interstate visitors are always by far the most interesting! There were some pretty good photo's there that captured the day as it was. You'd got an excellent car there Andrew, its so nice to see someone who actually cares about their MK5 enough to modify it, theres so many stockers in Sydney, driven by people who couldn't care less about what the car actually is, I've lost all interest in that series of GTi sadly. Good to see your doing the right thing, and we all hoped you enjoyed that meet.
