This sound's like a plan. Nice work Matt & Sean.

I should be down for this one 95% now that I've got a new, very cheap to run booze cruiser.

I happened to bump into the Loon yesterday (was nice to finally meet you in person Matt & also Dave. Wish I had more time for some drink's & s#%t's & giggles) & was saying that it would be awesome for alot of the Vic crew to make the trip.

Barring some sort of disaster (or a new job that forbids it) I'll be in for this. Just have to spend 3 weeks before and after cleaning the car

I might even have a set of wheels by then

                  yay for new wheels!!

                  *cough*shotguncokebottles!*cough*

                  Really though.

Is one day enough to get to sydney? Won't that be a 10 hour drive or something? Not to be a stick in the mud, but isn't that a fairly long time to be driving. (rhetorical). Besides, there's no way I can do the rowboat for 10 hours.

But thinking about driving up there, it will be a long drive with stops and etc.

Also does anyone have any ideas where abouts we well be staying. I'm geussing a small motel/caravan park close to the showground of the nats?

                  Just a few thought's I had...
P.s. I think I may need to install a 5 speed for this!

It is a long drive and we will do it during the day. Early start with a few stop offs to stay rejuvenated.

Try doing it by yourself & without a radio!!!!
Done the trip earlier this week. Took me 9 1/4 hour's cruising. Left Loon's place at 2pm & walked through the door at home 11.15pm

So from Melb. to the nat's approx 9 hour's.

It doesn't take that long, especially if your in a convey with a few car's & having a good time.

Don't know about the stop's though. I reckon I can do it in one go

As far as where to stay. Look it up.

I've found a couple of Hotel's within about 5min's from the showground's. Not going to book anything just yet though.

The Nat's is on a Sunday so if you want to get back by Monday, you'll have to leave early & drive through the night.
Me, I'm staying the Sun. night.

what about staying in a hostel or something to reduce costs? but then again i guess staying at a hotel for a night wont be too bad

as for the drive, your right Tim, it'll go quick when you have people in a convoy having a good time!

Depends how far you guys want to stay away from the venue. If you guys want to go into the city at all then you will have a 45 mins trip near Fairfield, but I'm 20 mins from the showground and 20 mins from the city
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

I stayed in the city Here and made the drive in 40 mins as traffic is fairly light first thing Sunday.

You can do what you like matey, but I'm staying in a hotel.

I found this one just down the road from the showground's.

Melb to Syd is an easy drive if you do it during the day and have a good nights sleep. I've done it a few times and its not that bad at all! Try sydney to perth then complain lol

Straight run with just quick fuel stop you should make it under 10 hours easy to the City itself, staying further out in the "West" you will cut an hour off the trip.
