WA Day of the Volkswagen 2012

Hi fellas,

I've been contacted by the Volkswagen Club of Western Australia who are now planning this year's DOVW to be held on Sunday 2nd December.

They are changing a few things around this year, and have asked me if we would like to have a designated Watercooled area on the park. We've got the flags already which would be a great way to promote the forum name.

Post any ideas you might have & I'll pass the info on. The next planning meeting is late September.

I think they might be trying to set up specific areas for different models, maybe. The NoH2O guys usually parked up together anyway. We'll just need to coordinate with them if they give us an area so we all arrive at the right time to get in to park togther. Will see what I can find out.

Volkswagen has developed a brand new inexperienced technology referred to as the Blue Motion technology that reduces emissions of carbon di compound and chemical element di compound. Blue motion harmoniously combines all equipments in a very manner that has start/stop system, regenerative braking, and electrical drive and Hybrid systems. The Blue Motion technology has been put in 5 of its quickest commercialism merchandise.

Guys, small update for you -

The Club has been discussing the judging categories for this year, and have asked if we have any other suggestions.

Golf I - II Standard (Hatch and convertible)
Golf III - IV Standard (Hatch and convertible)
Golf V - VI Standard (Hatch and Wagen)
Water-cooled Standard (all years; Passat, Polo, Scirocco, New Beetle, Bora, Jetta, Tiguan, Touareg, Eos etc not golf)
Water-cooled Performance (all years factory badged e.g. GT, GTD, GTi, R and R series R32, R36, R50 etc)
Water-cooled Modified (All years)

We do have a "VW Affiliate" to cover Audis, Seat etc that will remain.

My first thought is that perhaps the non-Golf category should be expanded, since we usually have quite a few Polos in particular.

They are also looking into the larger groups, like us & some of the aircooled guys, organising a premeet so we can collect the entrance fee in advance which should speed up the queue getting in on the day etc.

Let me know any thoughts/feedback so I can pass on the comments!

Expanding the non-golf catagories seems like a good idea. Theres plenty of polos, plus eos (eosii?) and sciroccos going around now.

I cant seem to get thru to the club web pages, but was wondering if anyone knew what "gold coin show'n'shine" on the poster meant? The general public have to pay to get in to see the cars?

No no, what it likely means is that you'll need to pay $1/$2 to enter the show n shine comp. The show is held in a park, they can't restrict the public coming in to have a look.
