If the tuner market takes off properly for these, they are going to be a real weapon of choice.

Wasn't one of the criteria that the tuner needed to be a national provider ?

      Not sure.

Anyway, still enjoy this each time it gets put together.

Was a great couple of days, good to have the VW / Audi crew run up against all the other marques.

Had a weird PCV problem on the last day that cost us a heap in the last event, but other than that, the little Golf R went well.

Will try to get some pics up on Facebook later today. APR Australia | Facebook

Seb - are you serious? I think they had three times the amount of cars they could handle wanted to enter - 30 cars cost them a bomb to host - it's not like a time attack or a track day where you have the entrants paying to enter. Don't forget they have to pay the pro drivers as well.

With that attitude - I'm sure they would over look your entry. FYI - there were people entered who have never advertised with the magazine to the best of my knowledge - hell, we would have liked to take more cars, but getting one entry out of 30 was a privilege for us - I could whinge, but where would that get me?

Yes I am serious . I never knew Viezu even had a car until the annoucement a few weeks beforehand . Yeah 30 cars is a lot by why have the same tuners over and over with some having similar cars (didnt Evolve already enter an RS6 already ?) .

At the end of the day Im always going to wonder if some people didnt slip some money under the table to get in . Cause I can assure you after hearing about some of the 1/4 times it certainly wasnt about the cars prior motorsport engagements ....
So when will I get a chance to race head to head against your Golf R , both on the track and dragstrip Guy ?

Did Ramspeed's twin turbo Gallardo make an appearance? I've been following that build with interest on another forum and I noticed it was mentioned in the September issue of Motor as being a participant, but it doesn't appear in the entry lists above?

Looking forward to seeing results from the Golf Rs so I know what needs to be done to my next daily driver...

Seb, It's pretty simple - if you think there is money going under the table - ask for a public investigation, call a current affair & get them to expose it - oh, wear a tin foil hat too.

Other wise start your own magazine, get interesting cars & articles, sell copies to readers, & make a profit - pretty easy!

I thought our Golf ran against yours last year at Warwick? - We are probably doing some time attack events in QLD this year, you are welcome to attend.

James, No Gallardo there this year, no Ramspeed cars. There were a couple of new 997.2 PDK Turbo's for excitement though

Seb, bear in mind that Motor would also be looking at whose cars they use and are likely to sell more magazines with their inclusion. I don't know the business or brand you represent and there's likely many small/region centric outfits turning out bloody good cars, but would that inclusion sell more magazines over the national tuners like APR, Evolve, etc.

I think the so called EVL golf R is actually the Road, track, rally Golf R.

Does someone know if you are allowed to enter the same car consecutive years? Or do you have to enter a new car each year??

I know some of the company's put some serious money into developing these show/test cars but wouldn't it make better viewing if all of the cars were fresh.

Once again you turn it into a bit of a joke . Ive been waiting to field an event 1 on 1 with you anywhere , anytime . Open to public view , my Golf R vs yours . Drags or time attack . Name a track and time although will have to be next year due to my commitment to speedway this year , unless your willing to come down for VW showdown ?

Im not interested in starting a magazine , just racing . And you can keep your tin foil hat , just dont back down to a challenge !

Yes you ran against my Golf R , I had it for 2 or so weeks so was pretty much stock . If you want to run against it at Warwick thats fine , just dont trailer yours , drive it like I do mine .

So its a bias tuner challenge then ? I guess as a pretty much small nearly backyard operation I dont want to upstage the big names spending big dollars ?
