    QLD Willowbank Drags: This Wednesday 1st Aug

    I'm taking the GTI out to the Test 'n' Tune this Wednesday night at Willowbank and was wondering if we could organise a little VW on VW action.

    Cost: $45 gets you unlimited runs and admits one other person
    Where: Willowbank (obviously)
    When: Wednesday 1st August. Gates open at 5:30, runs begin at 6pm.
    What else?: Helmet (must meet Australian standards, long sleeves, long pants, covered shoes)

    I've never met any other forum members before, so it'd be good to see you there.

            Hey, I went, had a great time. It was a spur of the moment thing. Unless you take 2 days to drive to Ipswich, I don't see anything stopping more people from coming out!

                There were about 30 cars there and a few bikes. I'd say more than half were VE Commdores, and rather than hating on them I appreciate their value for money and it was good to see their proud owners giving them a good old thrashing. There weren't really any direct competitors to the Polo though. A Civic race car was running well, but a bit off my pace. I thoroughly beat a new XR6 and the RX8 that was there was about 2 seconds slower. In the end I did about 6 runs. Some clown in a VL commodore decided to leave most of his gearbox on the track, and it took about 45 mins to clean up. My best time was a 13.65, which improved on my previous PB of 14.4 which I set just after my first reflash. I'm happy with that and am keen to get some more runs under my belt.

                      Done! And stay tuned, I'm going again this Saturday night so I'll try and drum up a little more interest than last time.
