they judge the cars on how well they are detailed. I didnt enter mine. But i wouldnt have won either. there are plenty of swirls in the paint thanks to the dealer. It was washed but not overly clean. its silly little things like that that can cause u loss of points in the judges eyes.

Or maybe the LED tails. Or it could be because a number of the Mk 5's didn't enter the Show N Shine. The white 2 door next to mine (with the Porsche wheels) didn't enter.
Anyhoo, who cares. It's more important to have a good day, meet new people, share stories.....to hell with all this competitive crap.

The best reason for Chris to place better though was that mine wasnt even entered
Well done to everyone who put the effort in - the cars all look great - everyone is unique and i always get a huge buzz out of rolling down the road with the watercooled crew
speaking of which - when are we rolling again? OT i know but has anyone ever thought about doing something crazy like a day loop out of wangarrata or somewhere through the high country? some great stuff up there, Alpine Way, Monaro Hwy, real iconic drives that everybody has to do at least once.

I had a great day! good to talk to some people and sit around with like minded people, I left early and just found out then i came 2nd in standard MK1 & 2 golf, i dunno why i was in standard golf the guy at the gate filled out the form for me and i got 17inch wheels? and a waqrning to anyone that entered, take that entry sticker off asap, last year i left mine on for a week n it is hard to get off after that!Last edited by MK2 GTI; 25-11-2007, 08:04 PM.MK4 GTI (KO4, GIAC)

I'd be up for a drive in the high country. Particularly if it could be just after Xmas, whilst l've got a couple of weeks off.

**** me im tired. Running around all weekend! Great day today! Weather turned up nice and its always great to hang out with the Watercooled guys. Congrats to Sean for Runner-Up. Stiff **** Troy, stop complaining and get some Crystal Vaults with some phat GT stripes over the bonnet with an 8V engine conversion. Maybe you will have a chance! Oh and dont forget the metrosexual pastel t-shirts you and your homeboys have to rock!
That black MK3 is an automotive abortion. I cant believe the judges overlooked cars like Troys and Sean. These 2 guys should have taken out modified Golf honours. The judges need to click that we dont go for the wanky JDM look and that less is sometimes more.Last edited by FknDubbin; 25-11-2007, 09:14 PM.
